Tall Stacks Cruise
The Belle has some initial problems docking in Vevay.
Every few years, Cincinnati plays host to Tall Stacks, bringing together many of the steamboats still cruising the rivers of midwest USA. In 2003 I booked passage on a special trip of the Belle of Louisville. We took busses to foggy Vevay IN to catch the boat and steamed up to the Public Landing in Cincinnati taking all day. It could not have been a more lovely autumn day to sit on the deck, listen to the calliope, and watch the world drift slowly by. View the trip Itinerary.
In February and March of 2004, the Xavier basketball team went on an unprecedented "run" culminating in winiing the A-10 Tournament and advancing to the Elite Eight. I attended each of the games in Dayton, Orlando, and Atlanta.

At the end of January 2005, I took a 7-night cruise on the Royal Caribbean's Serenade of the Seas with my sister Pat and her husband Mitch. We started in San Juan with a new port each day except the last when we cruised back to San Juan. Here is the route we took:
